Project role and skills:

Ljeposava Ilijić brings her extensive theoretical and empirical experience in the fields of criminology and penology to the PrisonLIFE project, with a specific focus on studying prison deprivations among convicted individuals and their connection to the success of serving a prison sentence, social rehabilitation, reintegration, and desistance from crime. All these areas are directly or indirectly related to the quality of prison life, crucial for a fundamental understanding of the prison context.

As a project team member with rich scientific and professional experience, Ljeposava Ilijić leads theoretical-empirical analysis, assesses possibilities for improving the quality of prison life in Serbia, and develops empirical and theoretical recommendations based on evidence. She also actively participates in the cultural adaptation and development of the MQPL scale in the Serbian language, with a specific focus on testing the validity of its content. As part of the exploratory and comparative study, she will dedicate herself to evaluating the quality of prison life in comparison with the criminological and penological characteristics of the convicted, exploring the overall quality of prison life in prisons in Serbia. Additionally, she takes responsibility for various project promotion activities and raising public awareness of the complexity of prison life and its significance for the successful execution of a prison sentence.
