This dataset includes information about the adaptation process, translations, and content validity assessment of the Serbian version of the Measuring the Quality of Prison Life (MQPL) survey, along with details about participants in focus groups and their feedback.

Navigating the challenges of measuring prison climate

This roundtable at the 24th Annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology (EUROCRIM 2024) in Bucharest explored the methodological challenges of measuring prison climate across different jurisdictions, focusing on issues such as data reliability, ethical considerations, and cross-national comparability. Principal Investigator of the PrisonLIFE project, Milena Milićević, participated in the discussion, which aimed to enhance global understanding and improve correctional environments.

The PrisonLIFE project has recently launched a digital catalogue, the PrisonLIFE photo exhibition, which showcases a series of photographs from the project’s field research in Belgrade District Prison. The collection provides a visual narrative of life inside Serbian prisons and serves as an extension of the project’s transdisciplinary approach to understanding the quality of prison life.
