Project role and skills:

Sanja Ćopić will contribute her theoretical knowledge and previous experience in conducting empirical, especially action research on the position and respect for the human rights of women serving prison sentences. Her expertise in victimology, gender equality, discrimination, violence against women, and the connections between victimisation and the criminalisation of women represents a unique contribution. Sanja Ćopić has significant experience in developing public policies and practices based on empirical evidence.

As a project team member and distinguished scholar with years of experience, including engagement with the scientific, professional, and wider public, Sanja Ćopić leads communication, dissemination, and exploitation of results and findings from the PrisonLIFE project. Her activities include informing about project results, formulating recommendations from the explanatory meeting, and involving stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of internationally and European-adopted standards. Additionally, Sanja Ćopić participates in the examination of the characteristics of the quality of prison life in the general prison population, with a specific focus on female inmates. She is responsible for coordinating the explanatory meeting with the involvement of relevant stakeholders.
