The PrisonLIFE project team has previously researched the characteristics of the prison system in Serbia, conduinged numerous comparative, theoretical, and empirical studies, as well as analyses of legal solutions and public policies. The lack of literature on the quality of prison life motivated the team to explore this subject comprehensively. In contrast to their previous fokuses, the project has a broader perspective, with scientific and societal potential.
Led by Dr. Milena Milićević, a senior research associate at the Institute, the team consists of experienced researchers from the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research in Belgrade and the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation: Dr. Ljeposava Ilijić, Dr. Olivera Pavićević, Dr. Ana Batrićević, Dr. Janko Međedović, Dr. Ivana Stevanović, MA Aleksandar Stevanović, MA Nikola Drndarević, and Dr. Sanja Ćopić. Their transdisciplinarity enables the integration of knowledge and skills essential for achieving the project’s goals. As long-term collaborators, the team members have previously dealt with a wide range of areas and topics directly related to the project – from psychometry and cross-cultural adaptation to criminal law, from criminology and penology to social rehabilitation, victimology, and gender studie.
